FANTASY FORMULA 1 WITH THE POPPS (AND ALSO ALONSO)

Monaco Hit Parade

I had a hunch, when they kept talking about how boring this race was gonna be, that something crazy was gonna happen. So much lap 1 drama! Then, even though it was a parade, the tire situation made it a bit more interesting. In the end, the home boy Monegasque, Charles Leclerc, finally got his Monaco win.

The winner, seen here being soaked in bubbly by Monte Carlos Sainz.

But again, that’s only half the story as we turn to our matchups! Two teams played their No Negative chip, and “Heff Fwuan” (Mark) apparently played an All Negative chip. His team’s total points for the race were -87. (Has anyone heard from Mark? We should make sure he’s okay.) He’s been doing well all season with Haas, but last WeeKEND that ended on lap 1 with both cars DNFing. Needless to say, he lost his matchup with “Walk a Mile in my Shoey” (Len), who actually could have won without any points. Ouch!

“Little Old Lady From…” (Ray Deen) slipped from the top spot down to third after a tough loss to “Got in there.” (Joe). Joe’s team, with a solid 154 points, climbed one spot to eighth in the standings notching just his 3rd win this season.

“Let’s Go Motorracing” (Michael) played his No Negative chip but didn’t end up needing it after besting “Don’t Push My Jensen” (Kellee) in an inter-house battle. Michael takes over 1st place by tie-breaking points with the win.

But hot on his heels is “Concertina Turner” (Josiah) who had an amazing week, even though he had a Haas driver on his team! His 212 points were more than enough to beat “Hope All Teams Have Fun” (Monique), who wanted to put Leclerc in for her x2 driver, but was too sleepy and decided to go to bed. Can’t say I blame her.

“Can You Win a Race Fernandoooo” (Sara) eked out a win against “Thanks but No Planks” (Tom), with a close score of 220 to 194. She owes it all to her playing her No Negative chip. Since she has Hulkenberg AND Haas, she would have been done for, but because she played that chip, she avoided getting 105 negative points! Sara and Tom are streaking in different directions as Sara wins her third straight win, and Tom has now lost 5 in a row!

Down at the end of the standings it was PolelessCrew (Christina) vs. Li’l Smeardy (Lucie) and it was Lucie’s birthday weekend. Christina tried her best to gift the win, but ultimately it was Lucie’s constructors that let her down. Still, it came down to 5 points! Happy Birthday!
